What can I say the party is very green. The benefits are endless and people are choosing not to see them. I know it’s not the popular choice, but hey it tastes the same. I had you at taste, right? That’s because the tea party I am referring to is the Green Tea party (and not the political tea party). Enough discussion, it’s time to party!
What is green tea?
Green tea is made from leaves of the camellia sinensis plant. The benefits of green tea have been widespread in China. It touts many benefits to health and wellness, especially due to its flavonoid content. Green tea must be harvested and processed carefully or the beneficial contents will be almost completely gone. We can thank three main components of green tea for its many health benefits.
Three main components:
Polyphenols – Polyphenols have many benefits and many classifications. One class is the catechins, which contain the ever potent EGCG. EGCG benefits are endless as they help fight cancer, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune disease among others.
Antioxidants – Free radicals run rampant throughout the day, especially during times of stress (i.e. exercise). The antioxidant content in green tea is very high making it a vital component for health enthusiasts and holistic doctors.
Flavonoids – These are closely related to polyphenols, and offer just as many benefits! They also offer potential to protect against cancer. They are also an additional aid for fat loss!
This triple threat is unparallel to other natural products on the market. The benefits make it a must-have addition to your supplement arsenal. As always, choose products from trusted manufacturers. It is important to remind you that quality is key to ensure the components, from above, remain intact.
Green Tea benefits
