Rose injured his left knee late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's win over the 76ers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals series. An MRI performed after the game revealed the torn ACL.
The injury is expected to sideline Rose for six to nine months, but Thibodeau said that a definitive timetable has not been set yet and no surgery has been scheduled.
