The 1,3 Dimethylamylamine Blues

The Ultimate Focus/Mood agent known as 1,3 Dimethylamylamine, aka DMAA, Geranium, is on the verge of becoming extinct. Eli Lilly Company trademarked methylhexanamine under Forthane back in 1944 as a nasal decongestant.

Patrick Arnold reintroduced methylhexanamine in 2006 under the name Geranamine. USP Labs was one of the first companies to take advantage of Geranamine and one of the first companies to introduce a concentrate pre-workout formula to the market containing Geranamine listed as Geranium Stem. Jack3d was born, it was like BOOM! protein everywhere. Jack3d was so popular every supplement company followed suit. Hundreds of clone formulas flooded the market. Geranium became a household name in the bodybuilding industry like protein and creatine.

A few deaths in the USA have been possibly linked to geranium and numerous people have been hospitalized over the past few years. Methylhexanamine was a very popular party drug used in New Zealand by teenagers. When taken in high doses and mixed with alcohol, it can be dangerous. New Zealand was the first country to ban the substance and slowly others followed.

Geranium taken in low doses appears to be safe and provides a great deal of focus and enhances the effects of caffeine. I hate using cliches, but all good thing come to an end, and believe me, Geranium was a good thing.
